Paradise Valley volunteer police officer Howard Hecker remembered for decades of service

Paradise Valley area resident and volunteer police officer Howard Hecker, who served the town for more than a decade, died after years of service to his wife, children and neighbors.

He was recognized by the town and Paradise Valley Police Department as an important member of the community.

“He was a servant. He, first and foremost, served my mom,” his son Michael Hecker said. “But he served just his community. A lot of people retire and golf and whatever, but my dad chose to volunteer.”
