Outstanding NVP Players 9/28-10/2

PHOENIX —  As fall sports continue, there's been a number of North Valley players with outstanding performances each week. Here's a look at who excelled across fall sports last week.

Volleyball

Nylah Bibby, Senior, Saguaro - Posted 11 kills, seven aces, 11 digs and three assists in Saguaro’s 3-0 victory over Deer Valley on Monday. She followed it up on Tuesday with 13 kills, seven aces, 15 digs and two assists in a 3-1 victory over Cactus Shadows.

PHOENIX —  As fall sports continue, there's been a number of North Valley players with outstanding performances each week. Here's a look at who excelled across fall sports last week.

Volleyball

Nylah Bibby, Senior, Saguaro - Posted 11 kills, seven aces, 11 digs and three assists in Saguaro’s 3-0 victory over Deer Valley on Monday. She followed it up on Tuesday with 13 kills, seven aces, 15 digs and two assists in a 3-1 victory over Cactus Shadows. 

Sloan Kribel, Sophomore, Saguaro - Had an outstanding game against Cactus Shadows on Tuesday, posting 28 kills, two aces and eight digs in Saguaro’s 3-1 victory. 

Tessa Larkin, Senior, Xavier College Prep - In Wednesday’s 3-0 victory over Desert Vista, she had 17 kills, an ace, three blocks and eight digs to help the Gators nab a win. 

Lucy Solorzano, Senior, NDP - Leading the game with 12 kills, she also had 11 digs and two assists on the night in a 3-0 victory over Campo Verde. She followed it up on Wednesday by posting 22 kills, an ace, three blocks and 22 digs to help NDP defeat Chaparral 3-1. 

Nia Tinsley, Senior, Horizon - Finished with 16 kills, four aces, 11 digs and three assists in Wednesday’s 3-0 victory over Desert Mountain. 

Flag Football

Sydney Puma, Senior, Horizon - Finished the game with 334 yards and five touchdowns after completing 31 of her 41 pass attempts. She also ran the ball twice for 22 yards to help Horizon defeat Ironwood 45-0 on Thursday. 

Nikki Slager, Senior, Horizon - Had 10 catches for 133 yards and three touchdowns in Thursday’s 45-0 victory over Ironwood. 

Caroline Workman, Junior, Desert Mountain - Completed 13 of her 17 pass attempts for 103 yards and four touchdowns with one interception. She also carried the ball two times for 19 yards, caught two passes for 41 yards and a touchdown, all while also having two flag pulls and a pass defended in Desert Mountain’s 38-6 victory over Maricopa on Tuesday. 

Football

Karter Chamblin, Freshman, Brophy - In Friday’s 45-6 victory over Shadow Ridge, Chamblin had three receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown. 

Easton Conner, Junior, Desert Mountain - Playing on both sides of the ball, Conner excelled on Friday to help Desert Mountain to a 42-16 victory over Cactus Shadows. Offensively, he had 12 carries for 131 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, he had six tackles, four of them solo, along with a sack, an interception returned for 18 yards and a pass defended. 

Konnor Kammes, Senior, Arcadia - On just three receptions for the night, he racked up 102 yards and two touchdowns to help lead Arcadia past Combs 42-7.

Kash Silva, Senior, Pinnacle - Silva was all over the field for Pinnacle in its 58-0 victory over Valley Vista. Not only did he have four tackles on the night, he had two for a loss along with a sack, as well as a blocked punt. 

Braxton Tate, Senior, Brophy - He had 10 tackles, eight of them solo, along with an interception to help Brophy to a 45-6 victory over Shadow Ridge.

Cross Country - Boys

Bentley Buethe, Sophomore, Pinnacle - Coming in fourth place at the Glendale Showcase event, Buethe clocked in with a time of 16:21.2.

Cross Country - Girls

Isabella Cropper, Senior, Pinnacle - On Saturday at the Glendale Showcase event, Cropper finished in second overall with a time of 18.54.9.

Mary Mullenmeister, Sophomore, Cactus Shadows - Finishing in eighth place at the Glendale Showcase, she clocked in with a time of 20:06.7 and was the fastest sophomore to finish the race. 

Golf - Boys

Connor Bringhurst, Senior, Desert Mountain - At The Peaks Invitational, he shot four-under-par 140 to help Desert Mountain to a third place finish overall. 

Patrick Desmond, Senior, Brophy - In Tuesday’s match against Desert Mountain and Notre Dame Prep, Desmond shot three-under-par 33 to come in first and help Brophy take home the win. 

James Kalinowski, Senior, Pinnacle - On Thursday against Brophy, O’Connor and Coconino, Kalinowski posted a three-under-par 33 to tie for first and help Pinnacle take home first place. 

Jack Langbein, Senior, Brophy - Shot six-under-par 138 at The Peaks Invitational to help Brophy to a second place finish overall. 

Golf - Girls

Caroline Brooks, Freshman, Xavier - In Monday’s match against Higley and Corona del Sol, Brooks shot a two-under-par 34 to take first place and help Xavier to a win. 

Victoria Cosenza, Senior, Horizon - Won Wednesday’s match against Desert Mountain and Cactus Shadows by shooting a four-under-par 32. 

Antoinette Dreier, Senior, Arcadia - Shot three-over-par 38 at the match between Arcadia, Horizon and Shadow Mountain to help Arcadia finish in first place. 

Chaithra Sontineni, Sophomore, Desert Mountain - Shooting one-over-par 37 on Wednesday, Sontineni took second place and helped Desert Mountain defeat Horizon and Cactus Shadows.
