New pickleball and tennis courts debut at Phoenix’s Pierce Park

Phoenix’s Pierce Park premiered some new sports courts over the weekend, and they're just a short drive down the road for Paradise Valley residents looking for a new place to play.

The city held a ribbon-cutting event for the six new pickleball courts and two new tennis courts, along with LED lighting, Saturday, Aug. 22 at Pierce Park at the southwest corner of 46th and Oak streets.

“Across the country, there’s a real debate, but we are investing in both pickleball and tennis here because we just want people outside,” Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego said at the event.
