Maricopa County Home & Garden Show focused on flowers

The Maricopa County Home & Garden Show is introducing the Floral Showcase for the first time in Arizona at WestWorld of Scottsdale, 16601 N. Pima Road, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Friday, April 19 through Sunday, April 21.

This inaugural event will feature towering floral sculptures, themed gardenscapes, bouquets, a living greenhouse and a flower market. Guests can experience the kaleidoscope of colors inside the Flower Showcase along with more than 1,000 home improvement exhibits, all in one location for three days, according to a press release.

“The Flower Showcase is taking over the Home Show, where ordinary fades into oblivion and extraordinary takes center stage,” Katie Jones, show manager, said in the release. “In addition to the immersive floral showcase, guests will see the best home improvement companies, walk through landscapes and tiny homes, as well as see inspiration and unbeatable pricing throughout the weekend.”

Show attractions free with admission

  • The Floral Showcase is a new immersive experience with towering and cascading floral displays, tinyscapes, eccentric bouquets, a living greenhouse, bustling flower market to shop and more.
  • Arizona Flower Market Seminars have local professional florists showcase their arrangement techniques and work with audience members to create pieces. Participants will have the opportunity to take home the arrangements they created.
  • Eccentric Floral Displays are a vibrant display of floral creativity and immersive experiences. See, smell, touch and become inspired by the floral installations designed by professional florists from around the Valley.
  • The Garden Bar has happy hour every 15 minutes. “Gar-tenders” will be serving up sunflowers, pothos, eucalyptus and more out of a vintage Volkswagen Bus covered and filled with flowers. Each guest will get to take part in a mini floral lesson at the walk-up interactive plant bar.
  • Battle of the Bouquets is a showdown between the best local florists in the Valley. View a variety of bouquets that will leave you in awe and vote for your favorite bouquet to help choose the winner.
  • Trixie the Trusty Trailer offers an experience where you can create your own bouquet with a variety of different flowers.
  • Tinyscapes miniature landscapes are each meticulously crafted to showcase the wonders of nature and love for all things floral.
  • Living Greenhouse is where greenery meets grandeur at the 360-degree living greenhouse. Plant experts will lend a helping hand to guide visitors in choosing the plant that suits their lifestyle, the ideal location to place it, and tips on how to keep it thriving at home.
  • Landscapers Boulevard has expertly constructed landscapes to stroll through.
  • Virtual Reality Garden has wild botanicals and landscapes in an all-new VR experience.
  • Tiny Homes neighborhood is made to suit every taste from cozy cottages to more modern marvels.
  • Handmade Headquarters has free make-and-take crafts, including pressed flower lanterns, felt succulents, floral wax tarts, organic floral bath salts and body oil, hammered copper hearts. Visitors can also ask a master gardener of the University of Arizona, highly trained experts in everything from herb gardens to vegetables to succulents. Watch and learn as they discuss and demonstrate gardening tips and tricks to prepare for the upcoming summer.
  • Main Stage seminars blend visuals showcasing cutting edge advice and practical demonstrations from home improvement professionals in their fields.
  • Free walk-up landscape consultations and take-home design with the landscaping professionals valued at $350. Bring existing backyard pictures and measurements for a personalized session.
  • Kids’ Corner has free, do-it-yourself workshops for kids aged four to 12.

General Admission costs $8 daily for adults, free for kids under age 12. Tickets can be purchased onsite, cash only. Parking costs $10 cash and $12 card.

  • Senior Morning: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, $3 admission for guests age 60 and older.
  • Customer Appreciation: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, $2 admission
  • Military Appreciation: $5 admission with valid military identification for all three days.
  • April Birthdays: Visit the pink prize tent a special birthday gift with valid ID.
  • Platinum Guests: Show a platinum loyalty card to receive a free gift at the pink prize tent.
