The Franciscan Renewal Center hosted its sixth annual Peace Pole ceremony Monday, Sept. 21, in recognition of the International Day of Peace.
About 30 community members gathered at the Casa to add messages of peace to the hollow center of the aluminum Peace Pole. The pole displays the words “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in multiple languages.
Charles Brown, executive director of the Franciscan Renewal Center, led attendees in singing “Peace Is Flowing Like a River.” Paradise Valley Councilmember Anna Thomasson also spoke to the crowd.
