Damian Martin, of Boy Scout Troop 340, is working to achieve his Eagle Scout rank by helping an organization in need such as the Ville De Marie Academy in Scottsdale.
Martin’s special project for the academy is to set up a Gaga Ball Pit for students of all ages to have fun and get fit, according to a press release.
“I would greatly appreciate any donation you can make for the project benefiting the students at the school,” stated Martin.
The release described Gaga Ball as an “inclusive, thrilling and fast-paced game played within a 20-foot diameter octagon with 3-foot high walls,” with the objective to be the last person standing in the pit, hitting a kickball with your hands and trying to eliminate others by hitting them below the waist.
The goal for this fundraiser was to have all the materials bought for this project by the end of June, but he has raised $1,350 of the $1,500 goal as of Monday, July 3. Aiming to have all the necessary resources and begin constructing the equipment, he is seeking support through his fundraiser on Angelink.
Donations received will cover the costs of building materials and refreshments for those involved in the construction. Remaining funds will be donated to the school to purchase sports equipment, benefiting the student body, the release said.
