Willie Nelson is bringing his Willie Nelson & Family tour to Mesa next spring.
The legend will perform on Friday, April 19 at Mesa Amphitheatre, 263 N. Center St.
Presale tickets start at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30. General sale tickets begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1.
Texas-born Nelson is an icon of the ’70s outlaw-country movement, favoring a stripped-down style that could both evoke desert-highway vistas (“On the Road Again”) and initiate the most intimate of conversations (“Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain”).
With a seven-decade career, he has earned every conceivable award as a musician and amassed reputable credentials as an author, actor, and activist. Nelson continues to thrive as a relevant and progressive musical and cultural force.
He has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the genre, whether that was Merle Haggard or Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson in The Highwaymen, and written some of country music’s most popular songs including “Crazy” made famous by Patsy Cline.
The Mesa concert will be 10 days before Nelson’s 91st birthday.
