Vehicle hits, kills woman near Mesa RV resort

A woman died Tuesday night after being hit by a vehicle near University Drive and Higley Road, Mesa police said.

The collision occurred just after 7:15 p.m. Feb. 27 near the Mesa Regal Resort. The woman, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Speed may have been a factor in the crash, police said, adding there were no signs of impairment on the driver.

The main entrance to Mesa Regal was blocked Tuesday night as police investigated the collision.
