Eastmark High School in Mesa has earned the Arizona 2025 Advanced Placement School Honor Roll recognition for the second year in a row.
The recognition is based on criteria related to AP exam participation and success.
Only 9% of qualifying Arizona schools earned a Bronze AP School Honor Roll award, according to a press release from the Queen Creek Unified School District.
“We support our students by starting small and building the skills over the course of the school year. We don’t expect them to be ready for the test right away,” an Eastmark High AP teacher stated in the release. “We build their skills and build their confidence. Then we often give them full practice tests so they can know what the test feels like before ever stepping into the testing room.”
When asked what the recognition means to them, a second AP teacher stated, “As teachers, we are pushing students to challenge themselves but also providing the tools for them to be successful with their challenge, and that means the most to me; that is why I became a teacher.”
Another teacher proudly added that the achievement demonstrates students can accomplish whatever they put their minds to.
“Our students can rise to any challenge that we set before them, that they desire to learn at high academic levels, and that they are willing to put in the time, effort and energy that it takes to achieve a qualifying score on the AP tests to get a head start on their college degrees,” an Eastmark AP teacher stated in the release.
