The city of Mesa will be holding a free baseball clinic in collaboration with Major League Baseball and the U.S. Conference of Mayors on Friday, March 22.

The event, titled Play Ball, is a free introductory diamond sports clinic. It will take place from 10 a.m.-noon on March 22 at the Fiesta Sports Park ballfields at 936 South Extension Road in Mesa.

“The Play Ball initiative is baseball’s effort to encourage young people and communities to engage in baseball or softball activities. Play Ball events are MLB’s signature youth engagement activity,” a press release stated. “No prior experience or baseball/softball equipment is necessary. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable athletic clothing and shoes.”
