The Mesa Planning and Zoning Board voted 7-0 at its July 24 meeting to approve a site modification that will pave the way for a Valvoline Instant Oil Change facility.
The site will be within the 1300 block of South Sossaman Road, south of Southern Avenue and west of Sossaman Road, according to a staff report.
The proposed site plan entails a 2,080-square-foot building with two service lanes and bays, three access points, and at least eight parking spaces.
The staff report said the city has not received any comments or concerns from surrounding property owners within 1,000 feet of the site.
The seven-member Planning and Zoning Board conducts hearings and makes recommendations to the city council on requests for changes in zoning and on required site plans. It also considers and recommends changes in the city’s long-range plans and in the municipal code concerning planning and zoning matters. Members are appointed for staggered terms of three years.
