Mesa planning board approves 45,000-square-foot industrial development site plan

Posted

The Mesa Planning and Zoning Board voted 7-0 to approve a site plan modification for a 45,000-square-foot industrial development during its July 23 public hearing.

The board had no discussion on the matter during its public hearing.

The development project is named Signal Butte & Germann. It is about 815 feet north of the northeast corner of South Signal Butte Road and East Germann Road.

The modification request was made by applicant Steven Rice on behalf of site owner Dale Cavan.

The major site plan modification request was made to develop three 15,000-square-foot industrial buildings. The applicant requested the modification so the site can be redeveloped for industrial uses, according to board documents.

Property owners within 1,000 feet of the site were notified, but staff received no correspondence or feedback, according to a city document.

The seven-member Planning and Zoning Board conducts hearings and makes recommendations to the city council on requests for changes in zoning and on required site plans. It also considers and recommends changes in the city’s long-range plans and in the municipal code concerning planning and zoning matters. Members are appointed for staggered terms of three years.
