Mesa Leadership completes courtyard at Arizona Baseball Museum

Posted

The Mesa Leadership Training and Development Class of 2026 recently completed its community service project, the revitalization of the courtyard adjacent to the Mesa Historical Museum and the new Arizona Baseball Museum.

The courtyard revitalization was selected as the Class of 2026’s signature service project in support of the Mesa Historical Museum’s expansion and the opening of the Arizona Baseball Museum, 2345 N. Horne, the first museum in Arizona dedicated exclusively to preserving and celebrating the state’s rich baseball history, according to a release.

The newly enhanced courtyard serves as a welcoming outdoor gathering space for museum visitors, community events, educational programming and special celebrations tied to Arizona’s baseball heritage.

A key partner in bringing this vision to life is Ryze Outdoor Creations, a Mesa-based company that provided an in-kind donation of design, labor and materials to complete the project. Ryze Outdoor Creations took on the courtyard transformation in its entirety and is using the project as a showcase of its craftsmanship, community commitment and professional expertise for future commercial and civic partnerships, the release states.

“We are incredibly grateful to Mesa Leadership for choosing our museum as their 2026 community project,” Susan Ricci, director of the Mesa Historical Museum, said in the release. “After years of fundraising and unexpected renovation expenses, we truly didn’t know how we would complete the courtyard. Seeing it finished fills us with pride, and we’re excited to share this beautiful space with the community thanks to the Mesa Leadership Class of 2026 and the generosity of Ryze Outdoor Creations.”

The revitalized courtyard complements the Arizona Baseball Museum, which opened to the public on Feb. 21, and is inside the historic Lehi Auditorium.
