The Mesa City Council is set to vote on a seven-month contract for vehicle equipment purchasing and installation for the fleet services department at their upcoming meeting.
The meeting takes place at 5:45 p.m. July 8 at 20 E. Main St.
According to council documents, the contract would provide for the purchase and installation of vehicle equipment and lighting for police department vehicles. The contract would run from July 8, 2025 to Jan. 31, 2026 at $2.8 million annually with a possible renewal of up to four years.
“Equipment includes specialized turnkey emergency vehicle equipment (lights, sirens, push-bars, detainee cages, consoles, wiring, etc.) and installation services for the Police Department,” the council documents read. “Given the high volume of vehicles being deployed, fleet requires multiple vendors to ensure police vehicles are put into service within a reasonable timeframe.”
If approved, the city would be using a city of Chandler cooperative contract with Airwave Communications Enterprises LLC, All Fleet Services, and Waltz Outfitting LLC.
Council documents say the contract would be funded by the fleet internal services budget.
