Liquor license sought for Steadfast Diner in Mesa

Posted

A new series 12 restaurant license is being sought for Steadfast Diner, a Mesa restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Mesa City Council voted unanimously Dec. 9 as part of a consent agenda with other items to recommend that the Arizona Department of Liquor License and Control approve the license for the business at 5149 S. Inspirian Parkway.

Theresa June Morse is the agent. The existing license held by Handlebar Diner LLC will revert to the state.

A series 12 restaurant license allows on-site consumption of all types of alcohol.

Four petitions of protests were received against the application from people located within a 1-mile radius of the business for a variety of reasons including concerns about the prior owner’s lease agreement termination, distance to local schools and community center, disturbing the peace of the nearby neighborhood, alleged violations of Title 4 of the Arizona Revised Statutes as they relate to staff consumption while working, and improper liquor storage, according to a written staff report.
