Ironwood Drive lane work for State Route 24 starts March 28
Restrictions will run through July
Posted
Beginning March 28 through July, all traffic on Ironwood Drive north of Germann Road will be shifted to the southbound lanes.
Southbound travel will be restricted to one lane and two lanes for northbound travel while crews continue widening the road in preparation for the future State Route 24, according to a release.
Drivers should slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while this restriction is in place.
The Arizona Department of Transportation, in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration, is constructing the Interim Phase II section of State Route 24 also referred to as Gateway Freeway. This section will include approximately five miles of a new divided four-lane roadway extending from Ellsworth Road in east Mesa to Ironwood Drive in Pinal County.
Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors, the release states.
