Mat Meyer, founder and chef of Ansley Table, through his donation of private dinners at the 2025 Night of a Million Dreams Gala, raised enough funds to support one of House of Refuge’s homes for an entire year — the very same home where he once lived with his sons.
Located on 20 acres in southeast Mesa on a portion of the former Williams Air Force Base, House of Refuge is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides transitional housing for families experiencing homelessness.
To commemorate Meyer’s act of generosity and resilience, House of Refuge will unveil a plaque on the home at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, honoring him and the journey that brought him from resident to board member and philanthropic partner.
Ansley Table, named after the street Meyer grew up on, offers private dining experiences rooted in a mission of creating connection through food. Since launching the business, he has remained connected to House of Refuge, using his culinary talents to support families navigating the same path to self-sufficiency he once did, according to a release.
“We are honored to celebrate Mat’s incredible journey,” Kayla Kolar, president and CEO of House of Refuge, said in the release. “His commitment to giving back — especially to the very home that once sheltered and supported his family — beautifully represents the heart of our mission. This plaque will not only mark a home, but a story of transformation, resilience, and hope.”
The dedication ceremony will take place at the House of Refuge Mesa campus.
