More than 100 HonorHealth Ambassadors recently rolled up their sleeves for the seventh annual Ambassador Give Back Day, partnering with nonprofits across the Valley to support families, revitalize neighborhoods and fight hunger.
The volunteers at the Saturday, Nov. 22, event included Executive Vice President Dr. John Neil, according to a release.
Give Back Day was created to give back to the communities where HonorHealth team members live and work. This year’s efforts spanned multiple cities and meaningful projects including Tempe and Mesa:
In Tempe, volunteers partnered with Feed My Starving Children to hand-pack meals for children facing hunger around the world.
In Mesa, at House of Refuge, volunteers prepped and repainted transitional housing to give a family experiencing crisis a safe, welcoming home for the holidays.
Across every site, HonorHealth team members brought compassion, collaboration and service to the forefront by demonstrating what it means to care for our neighbors beyond the walls of our medical centers, it states in the release.
In all, there are more than 5,300 HonorHealth Ambassadors who volunteer their time throughout the year to support causes they care about, it’s what we do to go beyond expectations of a traditional health care system, it stats.
HonorHealth is one of Arizona’s largest nonprofit health care systems, serving a population of five million people in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. Go to HonorHealth.com.
