Donations to Paz de Cristo will go twice as far through Oct. 16, World Food Day.
Nuvision Credit Union will match every gift made through the Mesa nonprofit’s GoFundMe page at gofundme.com/f/PazDeCristo2026 dollar for dollar, up to $5,000, as part of its annual Help Fight Hunger Drive.
Each meal at Paz de Cristo costs 42 cents. If donors give the full $5,000, Nuvision’s match brings the total to $10,000, enough for more than 23,800 meals.
“Every dollar given through Oct. 16 becomes two,” said Jackie Shelley, executive director of Paz de Cristo. “At 42 cents a meal, a $25 gift puts about 119 meals on our tables. We’re grateful Nuvision chose to invest in its Mesa neighbors.”

Together, these programs provide more than 50,000 meals each month to people across the East Valley. Paz also offers clothing, haircuts, a weekly shower program and other basic needs.
In Maricopa County, 13.5% of residents lack consistent access to enough food, according to Feeding America’s Map the Meal Gap.
“Too many families in our communities are facing the difficult reality of not knowing where their next meal will come from,” said Roger Ballard, CEO of Nuvision Credit Union. “We’re proud to partner with Paz de Cristo and support the important work they do every day to help our neighbors facing hunger. By matching donations made through Paz de Cristo’s GoFundMe, we hope to bring our members and the community together to make an even greater impact for individuals and families across the East Valley.”
Nuvision’s Help Fight Hunger campaign builds on the credit union’s growing partnership with Paz de Cristo. Earlier this year, Nuvision recognized the Mesa-based nonprofit during the grand opening of its new Mesa Longbow branch with a donation supporting its work to help local individuals and families in need.
