ELECTIONS 2026

Hartke, Weninger ahead in LD13 primary early reports

Posted

The first set of results came in the evening of the July 21 primaries, including those for Arizona Legislative District 13.

On the Republican side, where only two of the three candidates on the ballot will advance, Kevin Hartke is leading in the first batch of results posted after polls closed.  With fewer than 25,000 ballots counted and reported, Hartke received 10,709 votes, or almost 44% in the three-candidate race.

Janet Weninger was in second place in early reporting with 8,424 votes, or about 34%.  Debra Schnike had 5,377 votes, or about 22%.

The Democratic Party only has two Democrats on the LD 13 House primary ballot, so both will advance.

Racquel “Rockee” Armstrong earned about 53% of the first group of votes in that primary, or 11,354, while Jacob Weinberg had 9,902 for 47%.

All five candidates in LD13 races live in Chandler.
