The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the closure of McDowell Road in north Mesa for pavement maintenance.

Eastbound McDowell Road will be closed between Gilbert Road and Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, April 18.

For a detour, drivers may consider taking southbound Gilbert Road to eastbound McKellips Road to access McDowell Road beyond the closure.

ADOT advises drivers to use caution and be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones.

Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors. For information, call the ADOT Bilingual Project Information Line at 855-712-8530 or go to https://azdot.gov/contact-us and select Projects from the drop-down menu.
