Eligible city of Mesa electric customers could save up to $56 on electric bills this summer.

The Mesa Energy Resources Department’s summer electric assistance program is accepting applications on a first-come, first-served basis for residential customers who demonstrate a financial need.

SRP customers are not eligible to participate in the program.

Summer electric assistance is a residential utility assistance program available to current city of Mesa residential electric customers whose total household income is less than $35,088 per year.

The program eliminates Mesa’s monthly service and usage charges for the first 80 kilowatt hours to help eligible customers cope with higher electric summer bills.

At current rates, participants can expect to save up to $18.50 on their July, August and September bills.

Eligible Mesa electric customers are encouraged to apply before May 27. For more information about eligibility and how to apply, go to https://www.mesaaz.gov/residents/energy/summer-electric-assistance-sea-program.
