American Red Cross blood drives planned at Mesa churches

Several Mesa churches are hosting American Red Cross blood drives in August and September.

Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages — accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood, it states at https://www.redcrossblood.org.

The blood drives are:

• The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Mesa Stake Olive Ward, 525 E. Second Ave., is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1.
• Hosanna Lutheran Church, 9601 E. Brown Road in Mesa, is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4.
• The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Paloma church community are holding a blood drive at Paloma Community Church, 3215 S. Sossaman Road in Mesa 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5.
