Avondale police have determined a threat made via social media against Agua Fria High School Wednesday morning is not credible.
The district announced around 8:40 a.m. that police were on campus investigating the threat but the school was not locked down.
“The campus is safe and is not on lockdown,” the announcement stated. “Parents are urged not to come to the campus.”
By 10:50 a.m. the district stated the threat was deemed “not credible” by police and district administration.
“The campus remains safe and will continue operating as usual,” the statement read, adding that police are continuing to investigate “to uncover anyone associated with the threat. Students who are associated with the incident will face strict disciplinary action.”
The district did not disclose details about the threat it received.
