GymGuyz mobile workouts now available in Southwest Valley

Goodyear’s Matthew Brandal is bringing GymGuyz mobile personal training to Southwest Valley residents.

The company brings the trainer, equipment and workout to its clients at their homes, offices or even nearby parks. It also provides personal training and fitness class services to corporations, schools, hospitals, senior living centers, sports and country clubs, apartment and condo complexes and a whole host of other business locations, according to a news release.

“I always knew I wanted to own my own business, and after reaching out to a couple of franchise consultants, I decided GymGuyz would be the perfect offering to bring to Southwest Valley residents while many stay home, fearful of entering big box gyms,” Mr. Brandal said in a prepared statement. “I hope to cater to Phoenix residents of all ages and will offer virtual training options to those who are hesitant to invite trainers into their homes.”

Mr. Brandal has worked in sales, marketing and product management positions. Last summer, he transferred to the Valley with his previous employer, but saw the move as the perfect opportunity to transition out of his corporate position to start his own business with a well-established franchise.

In a recent study conducted to measure the impact of the pandemic on the fitness industry, 59% of gym membership owners stated they are hesitant to go back to gyms, creating a new and sudden demand for mobile concepts such as GymGuyz.

Mr. Brandal said he seized the opportunity to bring a safe option for Southwest Valley residents to work out from the safety of their homes, stating he will follow the company’s strict training procedures to prioritize the community’s safety.

“I will be implementing the strict training protocols the brand has created to ensure the safety of clients including offering virtual and outdoor training options, CDC-compliant equipment disinfection, personal protection and hygiene protocols, and other procedures like allowing clients to keep equipment for up to 30 days to alleviate equipment disinfection concerns. The company also follows a strict social distancing and no touch policy accordingly to avoid all physical contact at all times,” he stated.

Since its founding in 2008, GymGuyz has grown to more 250 locations across the U.S. and Canada, with new locations recently opening in the United Kingdom.

In addition to the Southwest Valley service area, the company has plans to partner with additional franchise partners to open two more locations in the Valley over the next year. Phoenix has been identified as a top growth market for the mobile fitness brand, and the company has room to add seven additional service areas in the greater Phoenix market.
