Mike Beadle may or may not have hurtled down a 27-foot water slide at the new Goodyear Recreation Campus 10 or more times over the past few weeks.
“Gotta test it out, you know, to make sure everything works OK,” the recreation superintendent said with a laugh as he showed Independent Newsmedia around the $67.4 million state-of-the-art campus slated to open to the public Saturday, July 3.
Beadle, who served as project manager and assisted in design, development and construction, will be in charge of campus operations, working alongside fellow superintendent Deanna Ortiz, who will handle programming, which will include everything from youth and adult sports and classes, camps, group fitness classes, gaming and more.
