Beware — social media posts making the rounds that show a Luke Days event taking place this month are bogus.
The popular event at Luke Air Force Base, 14185 Falcon St., near Glendale, features an open house air show on the West Valley military installation. Luke Days takes place every other year in March, and draws tens of thousands of enthusiasts to the two-day event.
The 2020 show was canceled because of the coronavirus outbreak.
This month, social media event “posts” are showing a 2021 event taking place this month.
“There will be no Luke Days this year,” Luke AFB public affairs officer Sean Clements confirmed to the Glendale Independent on March 12. “There are a lot of fake events out on social media.”
Mr. Clements also confirmed that the next Luke Days air show is scheduled to take place March 19-20, 2022, on the base.
