Avondale accepting nominations for nonprofit award contest

Nominations are open for the city of Avondale’s Leading EDGE Nonprofit Organization Award.

This award recognizes one nonprofit for its outstanding commitment to serving the Avondale community.

“Avondale recognizes the vital role that nonprofit organizations play in improving the lives of its residents. Through this award, the city aims to honor and support those working in the human services sector,” Edith Baltierrez, Avondale Neighborhood Family Services assistant director, shared in a press release.

Residents and businesses can submit nominations through the online form at www.avondaleaz.gov/nfs. The deadline for nominations is Friday, Feb. 9. Self-nominations are also accepted.

The selected organization will be announced on social media and will receive the Avondale Leading EDGE Nonprofit Organization Award at the State of the City event in April.

Avondale residents are encouraged to nominate their favorite nonprofit or one that has made a positive impact on their lives. Nominees will be evaluated based on their commitment to serving the community, innovative approaches, and measurable impact.
