Goodyear Police alert community of convicted sex offender

Posted

This article was updated Feb. 3, 2022, at 12:05 p.m. to reflect additional information provided by the Goodyear Police Department.

The Goodyear Police Department is alerting the community that a convicted sex offender has established residence in Goodyear near McDowell Road and Sarival Avenue.

Jonathan Patrick Hardy, 30, was convicted of a level two sex offense and is now residing in a single-family home at 16203 W. Coronado Road.

Arizona law requires law enforcement agents notify the surrounding community when a level two or level three sex offender moves into an area.

Every year, sex offenders must re-register as such with their local law enforcement agency and update their driver’s license annually.

Scroll to read the full sex offender notification from the Goodyear Police Department:

Court records show Hardy had not registered as a sex offender in 2015, a violation of his parole. He was sentenced in 2018 to 2.5 years in prison.

Hardy is a white male with brown hair and hazel eyes.

He is 6-foot-2 and weighs approximately 180 pounds, with numerous tattoos including a teardrop under his eye and roman numerals above his right eyebrow.

The notification sent out to the community did not disclose the nature of Hardy’s sexual offense because he was a minor when the crime took place, according to a Goodyear Police spokesperson.

Sex offenders are categorized into three tiers based on how likely they are to reoffend, with level one being least likely to reoffend, and level three being the most likely to reoffend.

Level two sex offenses are typically non-violent but often involve sexual contact with a minor. Level two sex offenders are considered to pose a moderate risk of reoffending.
