Nonprofits across the Valley are helping people from all walks of life. From providing families with food and clothes to assisting teens in crisis and sheltering domestic violence victims, nonprofits provide critical resources for the community.

As a way to support these essential programs and services, the city of Goodyear offers nonprofits an opportunity to apply for a grant as part of the city’s Community Funding Program.

Last year, the city awarded more than $160,000 in grants to 22 nonprofits, which included the Southwest Valley Family YMCA. With the grant money, they were able to provide low-and/or fixed income children and families within Goodyear with financial assistance, childcare, early learning and meal programs.

Applications for the Community Funding Program are now open and are due by Tuesday, April 30.

The city anticipates having $214,400 available to award nonprofit organizations serving Goodyear residents. Applicants must be 501c3 organizations and be able to track and report on the number of Goodyear residents served.
