Valentine's Day volunteers wanted at Glendale adult center

On Valentine's Day volunteers can spread the love at an adult day center in Glendale.

Love is in the air and Valley nonprofit Foundation for Senior Living is making sure some of the community’s most vulnerable members feel special and celebrated.

The Valentine’s Day event is from 10-11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at Foundation for Senior Living's Adult Day Health Center, 16209 N. 67th Ave; Glendale.

The Adult Day Health Center works with adults who have physical, cognitive or developmental disabilities or medical conditions.

On Valentine’s Day, dozens of AARP volunteers will help create a festive atmosphere, and distribute 100 roses to clients and their caregivers.

But more volunteer opportunities are available on Valentine's Day and each week.

Volunteer groups can lead activities with the clients, including bingo, arts and crafts and karaoke are some popular ones but plenty of other options are available.

The center offers a daily exercise program, community outings, social and therapeutic recreational activities, social services, restorative therapy, personalized care plans, nursing supervision and assistance with activities of daily living, including meals and snacks.
