The community at the Sierra Verde Park, 21000 N. 71st Ave., Glendale, will usher in the Jewish New Year by hearing the traditional Shofar blasts outdoors at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7.

Rosh Hashanah celebration, with Shofar blasts, coming to Glendale

The community at the Sierra Verde Park, 21000 N. 71st Ave., Glendale, will usher in the Jewish New Year by hearing the traditional Shofar blasts outdoors at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7.

Residents are welcome to participate in the Tashlich service, the traditional prayer of symbolically casting away sins by the water. The event will include prayers for the wellbeing of all humanity, which is a central theme of Rosh Hashanah.
