Property owner seeks wider range of retail on Glendale mall loop

Council will vote on plan amendment this month

The owner of several buildings near the Arrowhead Towne Center Loop in Glendale is seeking to level the playing field with the other owners of buildings surrounding the mall.

During the June 24 city council voting meeting, beginning at 5:30 p.m., the council will decide if it will amend the planne-area development of Arrowhead Towne Center Parcel 14, changing the land-use designation from limited commercial or neighborhood commercial to general commercial.

The Glendale Planning Commission unanimously recommended the amendment — which would cover five completed buildings on the southwest corner of St. John Road and 75th Avenue — during its May 22 meeting.
