Potential Deer Valley school board candidate pool grows to 6

Two more residents file Statements of Interest

The potential field of candidates vying for two Deer Valley Unified School District governing board seats may be growing.

Two more residents have filed statements of interest to run for the two four-year positions coming up in the Nov. 3 general election.

Mateo Urquijo, a Glendale resident, and Michael Martin, who didn’t list a residential city on his paperwork, have filed, according to the Maricopa County School Superintendent’s elections and districts data dashboard. That brings the total number of residents who have filed statements to six.
