Phoenix construction company raises $300,000 for Treasure House

Posted

A Phoenix construction firm has raised more than $300,000 to help support a Glendale facility that serves adults with developmental disabilities.

Willmeng Construction used its Builders Cub golf tournament this year to raise the funds for Treasure House, founded by former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner and his wife, Brenda.

“I was just so full of joy after last year and Willmeng along with the business community totally and completely blew it out of the water again this year,” said Lauri Tanner, CEO of Treasure House, in a press release. “The fact that we can be here amongst 200-300 people that may or may not know about Treasure House really helps us move the needle for awareness. And obviously the money is a great benefit to the residents and the families that we serve.”

Residents at Treasure House pay $3,800 monthly for their living at the community-based housing that comes with various services, skill development, connections and vocational opportunities. The cost, officials said is significantly more and is offset by donated funds.

Willmeng is in its second year of supporting Treasure House. Last year the company raised $260,000 for the organization.

“This event means a lot to the Willmeng team and we couldn’t do this without all of the generous support of our trade partners and clients, they have really responded and made this a truly memorable and impactful day,” said Willmeng CEO James Murphy in a press release.

Major sponsors of the Builders Cup were The Structures Group, which was the title sponsor for the event for the second straight year. Commonwealth Land Title National Commercial Services was the Sapphire Sponsor; Suntec, TFC, Trademark, Riggs, S&S Paving and Pueblo were all Gold Sponsors; SubZero was the Silver Sponsor; Ronning Landscaping, Icon Electric, Copper State Pavement, Kincaid Civil, Siteworks, Whitney Baugh were Copper Sponsors, Butler Design Group was the Ruby Sponsor. Other generous sponsors included Wilson, Airpark Signs, AE Concrete, Adobe Drywall, Hawkeye Electric, Degan, Siteworks, and SDC Inc. Also, longtime Willmeng partners Tonya Lively (Commonwealth Land Title National Commercial Services) and Alex Boles (ViaWest Group) personally donated $5,000 each during the live raffle to ensure the event eclipsed the $300,000 mark.
