Parts Town Unlimited moves in at Glendale industrial park

Posted

Phoenix-based Stevens-Leinweber Construction recently completed a global fulfillment center for Illinois-based Parts Town Unlimited.

Spanning a full building at the C|303 industrial park between  Camelback and Bethany Home roads alongside Loop 303 in Glendale, the facility establishes Parts Town’s first location in the Southwest and its largest and most technologically advanced U.S. fulfillment center to date.

Recognized by Inc. 5000 as one of the fastest-growing companies in the U.S., Parts Town is a high-tech distributor of original equipment manufacturer of foodservice equipment parts, residential appliance parts, HVAC parts, consumer electronic parts and related products.

Its new operation spans 420,536 square feet, occupying all of Building B at C|303 Phase I, a 1.75 million-square-foot industrial development by Merit Partners, Inc. At buildout, C|303 will support approximately 9 million square feet of industrial space spanning one full mile along the Loop 303.

The Parts Town C|303 facility includes:

• A 30,000-square-foot robotic Autostore system, the fastest order fulfillment system per square foot in the market, operated by autonomous, high-speed robots that move on top of an aluminum cubic grid to select, rearrange and deliver bins directly to connected ports .

• A 42,000-square-foot mezzanine system, offering a flexible, low-cost way to expand building function, fully utilize building volume.

• Expanded battery charging capabilities for 24 forklifts.

• An automated material handling conveyor system running throughout the warehouse.

• Two trucker’s lounges,  providing an amenity area and dedicated restrooms for drivers.

“With the addition of this new Global Fulfillment Center, we now have significant additional capacity to serve our growing customer base. This facility will ultimately support several categories of mission critical parts where in-stock availability and speed of delivery is highly consequential,” stated Parts Town Americas President Clint Holder in a press release.

C|303 Phase I was designed and constructed by SLC and Butler Design Group as a speculative three-building development by Merit Partners, Inc. All buildings incorporate LED lighting, insulated systems to maximize heating and cooling efficiencies, and are Foreign Trade Zone capable.

Anthony Lydon, Marc Hertzberg and Riley Gilbert of JLL are the exclusive leasing brokers for C|303. Bill Bayless of CBRE represented Parts Town in its lease.

“Merit had strong vision for C|303, which led to highly modern buildings that sit at an exceptional location,” Lydon stated. “It has made C|303 a magnet for high-profile lease commitments, and continues to attract strong interest for its remaining space.”
