From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 1, Midwestern University's Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine will play host to the fifth annual Ultrafest event at the university's Glendale campus, 19555 N. 59th Ave.
Ultrafest is an educational ultrasound symposium, decribed by Midwestern as largest student-run ultrasound symposium in the country, is open to all aspiring healthcare professionals from all across Arizona.
The event includes workshops and friendly competition. That morning will feature guests' choice of three faculty-led workshops across eight disciplines. Visitors can enjoy lunch and hear insights from the keynote speaker, which has not yet been selected.
Ultrafest concludes with SonoWars, a team-based scanning competition. Students, residents, and attendings from all clinical disciplines are welcome to register.
This year’s workshop includes abdominal evaluations, central line, echocardiogram, foot and ankle, knee injection, nerve block, OBGYN, trauma eFAST and upper extremity.
Knobology is also available for those needing background training in ultrasound scanning.
Fee includes breakfast, lunch, t-shirt, and raffle.
The cost for Midwestern University students and affiliates is $35 and for non-students and guests is $45.
