Man dies in head-on Glendale collision Thursday

Wilmer Geovany Ramos Ramirez, 28, is dead after police said he caused a head-on crash in the southeast corner of Glendale Thursday night.

The man, described was driving east on Bethany Home Road when he lost control, crossed the double yellow lines and hit another car heading west near 45th Avenue just after 7:30 p.m.

The detective will not know if impairment was a factor until after the toxicology report arrives from the medical examiners office.  There is a high likelihood speed was a factor in this crash.

All people involved remained on scene. The other vehicle was occupied by two men, the police report stated.

According to the report, the driver of the car struck remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.  Impairment is not a factor of the driver of this vehicle.  

The roadway was completely closed in an east/west direction from 43rd and Bethany to 47th and Bethany, but has reopened.
