Glendale residents graduate, earn honors in spring

These college students from Glendale recently earned academic honors:

• Daniel Chavez of Glendale was named to the College of the Holy Cross spring 2024 dean’s List. A member of the Class of 2026, Chavez was named to the dean’s list at the Jesuit liberal arts institution in Worcester, Mass.
• Maggie Simmons of Glendale have completed IMPACT orientation and enrolled in classes for the fall 2024 semester at Troy University in Alabama.
• Shelly Petersen of Glendale was among students from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio who received degrees during the fall commencement Dec 15, 2023. Petersen graduated with a Master of Arts in biology.
• University of Maryland Global Campus graduated nearly 14,000 students worldwide during the 2023-24 academic year. Mason Stutesman and Edward Leyba, both of Glendale, earned associate of arts degrees in general studies.
• Abby C. Wilkes, of Glendale, was named to first honors on the Clark University Dean’s List for the spring semester. The university is in Worcester, Mass.
• Margaux Reyna, daughter of Armando Reyna of New Rochelle, N.Y., and Stephanie Reyna of Glendale, graduated from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa., on May 19 with a BA in international studies and French and francophone studies.
• Elizabeth McFall of Glendale earned a spot on the 2024 spring semester Provost’s Honor Roll at the University of Wyoming in Laramie.
