Taryn Janssen keeps a leisurely pace on the trail when she’s on horseback. But she’s running faster than ever on cross country trails throughout the western U.S.
The Glendale Prep senior enters Saturday’s state championships at Cave Creek Golf Course in Phoenix as the clear favorite. Her top time is 40 seconds less than the closest competitor. She comfortably beat the top three contending runners in Division IV and her section during the Oct. 24 section meet.
She is ready to win that elusive state title. Then Janssen can rely on horsepower until track season starts.
