Glendale plans to expand its community risk reduction program for at least a two years, using $500,000 in opioid settlement funds.
This funding is not allocated to other city programs. Glendale Fire Department and Community Services leaders presented the pilot program to the Glendale City Council at its May 12 workshop.
Adding two positions for two years and providing two additional vehicles will expand in-field responses from five to seven days and allow the city to take on additional social work interns.
