Glendale library branch, store unite for free comic books

Saturday, May 3 will be the annual day of interactive fun at the free comic book day at downtown Glendale's library branch and comic book store.

The event will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Velma Teague Library Branch, 7010 N. 58th Ave.

Enjoy free comics, vendors, comic book artists, cosplay, crafts, and games at this all-ages annual event. Activities will occur inside the Velma Teague Library and at the Drawn to Comics Store across the street at 5801 W. Glendale Ave.

Attendees of all ages at the library can meet comic book artists, take photos with costumed characters, explore comic book collectibles, enjoy free craft projects, and, score free comic books. Plus, a Smash Bros Ultimate video game tournament and other carnival-style games will be held throughout the day for a chance to win prizes.

Drawn to Comics is offering 25% off all comic books and graphic novels on May 3 and is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. that day.

Recently, Drawn to Comics announced it will have Image Comics Massivverse creators Kyle Higgins (Radiant Black) and Ryan Parrott (Rogue Sun) as guests that day.

Other confirmed guests at the comic book store that day include Livio Ramondelli. Eddie Nunez, Jason Worthington, Sew Ashtastic, Chris Rybinski, Austin Ackert, Doc Vaughn, Joseph Newcomer, Amber Skies, Ivory Gayle, Reiquan Garrison, Demar Douglas, Jamera Lowery, Jeff Ellison, Ruben Najera and Jose Guillen.
