Glendale hot air balloon company cleans area for Earth Month

Rainbow Ryders, a well-known Southwestern hot air ballon company, has taken action to preserve the Arizona desert landscapes that serve as the backdrop to its hot air balloon flights in honor of Earth Month and Day, April 22.

On Friday, April 11, the Rainbow Ryders team took to the ground instead of the skies, leading a large desert clean-up effort around the company's launch site in Glendale. With the help of staff and pilots, they removed significant amount of trash, three tons, which was delivered to the Glendale dump following clean-up.

This Earth Month initiative is part of a broader sustainability commitment by the company. Rainbow Ryders recycles all champagne bottles used in post-flight celebrations, and also transitioned to using 100 percent solar energy in all offices and headquarters. Through these efforts, the company strives to make a positive impact on the environment and is dedicated to furthering sustainability practices.

“For more than 40 years, Rainbow Ryders has had the honor of soaring above the breathtaking landscapes of the Southwest. Now operating in four different cities, we deeply value this privilege, knowing that hot air balloon flights are truly remarkable because of the stunning views below. At Rainbow Ryders, we are committed to building respect for all the landscapes our hot air balloons see,” stated the Rainbow Ryders Glendale team in a press release.
