Posted

The Fraternal Order of Police, Glendale Lodge 12, will lead its annual frozen turkey drive from 7-9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26.

Trucks will be staged in front of all three participating Glendale Police stations (Main, Gateway and Foothills) with volunteers accepting frozen turkeys, canned food, and cash donations.

The three Glendale Police stations taking part are at the following addresses:

  • Main: 6835 N. 57th Drive
  • Gateway: 6261 N. 83rd Ave.
  • Foothills: 6255 W. Union Hills Drive

Immediately following the drive, all of the proceeds will be delivered to the Hope For Hunger Food Bank, 5605 N. 55th Ave., in Glendale.

Last year, FOP Lodge 12 was able to deliver to Hope For Hunger a truck load full of frozen turkeys, along with canned food and $248 in cash and gift cards.

This year, the FOP wants to go bigger so the group will also be in front of a few Glendale grocery stores on the morning of Nov. 26.

In addition to the frozen turkey drive each year, FOP Lodge 12 also adopts a family for the holiday season and hosts an annual Cops & Kids event where children in need are given gifts, a new bicycle, and can meet police officers.
