Glendale Councilmember Ray Malnar has been appointed to the National League of Cities’ public safety and crime prevention federal advocacy committee.
Malnar was elected to a one-year term and will provide strategic direction and guidance for the National League of Cities’ federal advocacy agenda and policy priorities on public safety, according to a press release.
“I’m honored to serve on the committee and represent Glendale in a meaningful way at the national level,” Malnar stated. “This appointment will provide an opportunity to work with other national leaders and congress to positively impact the Safety of our community.”
As a member of the committee Malnar will play a key role in shaping the National League of Cities’ policy positions and advocating on behalf of America’s cities, towns and villages before Congress, with the administration and at home.
“NLC’s federal advocacy committees play an important role in helping policymakers in Washington understand the issues and challenges facing America’s cities, towns and villages at the local level,” NLC President Mayor David Sander, of Rancho Cordova, California, stated.
