Glendale City Council member Leandro Baldenegro will lead his first meeting for his Ocotillo District constituents from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18 in the Glendale Civic Center 5700 W. Glenn Drive.

Baldenegro will share his vision for the Ocotillo District. He invited several city departments and public service representatives to answer resident questions.

Baldenegro was sworn into office at the April 23 council meeting. The appointment covers the remainder of former council member Jamie Aldama's term through December 2026. Aldama resigned April 1 to run for mayor, though he had to drop his campaign.

Baldenegro resides in the same house in downtown Glendale where he was born and raised. He is a Glendale Elementary School District employee.

He has been a coach for Arizona Pop Warner Football and as a volunteer for more than 16 years with the nonprofit organization HandsOn Greater Phoenix, which connects volunteers to vital projects in the Valley.

He graduated from Apollo High School and attended Arizona State University.
