Glendale has one more water rate hike planned for 2026.
During its workshop starting at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11 in the Glendale Civic Center, 5750 W. Glenn Drive, the City Council will analyze the future water infrastructure improvement needs and discuss funding sources.
Infrastructure improvements estimated at $418 million are planned during the next five years to ensure reliable water and sewer services continue.
In its information packet for this five-year forecast, city staff concluded that rate adjustments are necessary to provide the financial resources required for system rehabilitations and improvements; and to maintain 24-hour service.
The second agenda item for the workshop is the results and early analysis of the 2024 Glendale Resident Survey.
Glendale sent the survey to 9,500 random residences, and 481 were returned by the post office as undeliverable or vacant. The city received 402 survey responses and their priorities included:
