Glendale Community College gives globes to faculty

Glendale Community College led its 14th annual Gaucho Globes award ceremony at the Spring 2025 Convocation on Jan. 7.. 

Gaucho Globe awards recognize faculty and staff who excel in their jobs and consistently go above and beyond to make GCC a better place for students, faculty and staff. Each recipient was nominated by their peers and then voted on by a committee.

Here are the Gaucho Globe Award recipients:

  • Community Builder: Shana Pearce Morrison
  • Community Outreach: Brent Kleinman
  • Customer Service: Facilities Management Service - Melissa Musser-Mariano, Susan Crawford and Angela Williams
  • Fostering Team Building: Julie Nevarez
  • Innovation: Ashley Endriss
  • Positivity: Kathy Schutt
  • Student Success: Erika Hopson
  • Sustainability: Bee Campus Committee; Megan Jimenez, Alex Perry, Mark Pacheco, Jesus Estrada, Pamela Gautier, Michael Strong and Nicholas Baker
  • Valuing Diversity: Lynn Brysacz
  • Excellence in Teaching - National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development: Erika Hopson and Sarah Padelford
  • Assessment Rock Star: Genes Stephens

Congratulating the recipients were GCC President Tiffany Hernandez, Monica Castaneda, vice president of student affairs, Augustine Erpelding, vice president of administrative services, and Lorelei Konopka, acting vice president of academic affairs.
