The 2024 Glendale Community College women’s volleyball team clinched the title of Arizona Community College Athletic Conference champions.

The last time the Gauchos won the conference champion title was in 2015.

The Gauchos finished the season with a 15-3 conference record and a 19-4 overall record.

GCC women’s volleyball is coached by Lisa Stuck, and her assistants are Melissa Yee and Nick Giatroudakis.

“The team has great chemistry and they really gelled at the right time. We had some adversity and injuries early in the season, and that only made the team stronger.” Stuck stated in a press release.

The 2024 team members are:

  • Brooke Barrois - Opposite Hitter
  • Sofia Cortesio - Libero
  • Kadee Penrod - Libero
  • Hailee Peters - Setter
  • Riley Jahnke - Opposite Hitter
  • Dafne Zamora - Middle Blocker
  • Bella Reach - Opposite Hitter
  • Braelyn Marshall - Opposite Hitter/Middle Blocker
  • Kylie Malone - Opposite Hitter
  • Olivia Moore - Setter
  • Nissa Teran - Middle Blocker

“Coach Stuck has pulled together a great team this year, with a good combination of freshman and sophomore players. Recruiting is key and Coach Stuck always does a great job bringing in talented and hardworking student athletes, who want to be part of her program,” stated GCC Athletic Director Peter Oliszczak.

GCC will host the regional tournament Nov. 7-9.
