Annual 5K fills Westgate

Girl Scouts—Arizona Cactus-Pine Council and State Forty Eight Foundation, in collaboration with State Forty Eight, will again celebrate girl-led achievements and entrepreneurship during the final weekend of the 2025 Girl Scout cookie season.

The community is invited to the Bring Home the Cookies 5K on March 1 at Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale.

The event is open to all ages and will feature a family fun run/walk, Girl Scout cookie eating contests with local figures, appearances from your local sports mascots, and more family-friendly fun.

The Bring Home the Cookies 5K hosts includes traditional booths and vendors, including State Forty Eight Foundation grant winners and Girl Scout entrepreneurs showcasing their businesses and selling handmade products. Plus, Girl Scouts will be onsite for a final chance to stock up on cookies and help complete their sales goal before  March 2.

“Girl Scouts have been hard at work this cookie season, not only providing us with our beloved Girl Scout cookie favorites but also developing essential skills of goal setting, decision-making, money management, and teamwork through the program,” stated Mary Mitchell, co-CEO of GSACPC, in a press release.

Proceeds will support both nonprofit organizations.

“Girl Scouts marks the beginning of many entrepreneurial journeys, and we’re excited to once again empower Arizona’s future entrepreneurs alongside State Forty Eight, the perfect co-host that aligns with our shared mission,” states Christina Spicer, co-CEO of GSACPC.

All registered participants will receive State Forty Eight 5K shirt, medal, and a package of Girl Scout cookies.

“For us, the Bring Home the Cookies 5K is an opportunity to empower the entrepreneurs of tomorrow while supporting the small business owners in our community today, helping them grow and reach new heights.” stated State Forty Eight Foundation Executive Director Marina Sandoval.

Sponsors include Rafi Law Group, Arizona Cardinals, Massage Envy, Amazon Air, Bashas’, Cardinals Charities, Sports Fund of Arizona, Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation, Wunderkind Scottsdale and Yam Properties.
